Our featured gin for December is the second installment in our Editions Series. Winter Gin was created in collaboration with renowned Scottish producer, McLean’s.

The Edition Series will see us work with different Scottish distilleries to develop a single batch gin for our Scottish Gin Club members, with two gins released each year. 

The Gin

Winter Gin is a subtly sweet and warming Old Tom, filled with festive flavours. Like a whisky with a Sauternes or Amarone cask finish, Winter Gin is naturally tinted rose gold thanks to a 10 day infusion of Lanarkshire pine needles and sloe berries.

The complete list of botanicals includes juniper berries, coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, orange peel, cinnamon, cacao nibs, pine needles, tonka beans, black cardamom and sloe berries. 

Winter Gin is a luxurious, distinctive gin. On the nose it’s tart, festive and ever-so-slightly sweet - with tasting notes of vanilla, raison, Christmas cake and dark chocolate. 

The Perfect Serve

Serve over ice, along with a Walter Gregor Original tonic and garnish with fresh mint and the slightest dash of fresh lemon juice.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, tart, dry and delicate floral. To taste, rich and festive warmth. To finish, a lingering and slightly spiced sweetness.
