Product of the Week - LinGin Berry Gin
Our product of the week is a new release from the team at Linlithgow Distillery.
LinGin Berry Gin was originally developed last year as a special release for Mother's Day. However, it proved so popular that they have decided to release it permanently into their range of premium gins.
LinGin Berry Gin
The Berry Gin features freshly squeezed raspberries and blackcurrants sourced from Craigies Fruit Farm in Queensferry. The berries are distilled alongside familiar botanicals that can be found in the flagship LinGin gin including juniper, coriander, angelica, orris, meadowsweet and orange.
Some natural blackcurrant juice is then added post distillation to give the gin its beautiful pink hue.
To taste, the Berry Gin is a full-bodied fruit gin with juniper notes backed up by a hint of spice and Scottish berries. Any sweetness comes from naturally from the berries.
We believe it's best served with a premium tonic and garnished with any type of berry.
If you have a sweeter palate then pair with some lemonade or even cream soda - it's delicious!
About Linlithgow Distillery
Linlithgow Distillery was founded in March 2017 by Ross and Alyson Jamieson. After long careers in IT they wanted to move in a new direction.
Both Ross and Alyson had dreamed of owning their own distillery and came up with the idea for Linlithgow Distillery one evening while enjoying some gin cocktails.
Just 10 months after the distillery was formed, the first batch of LinGin was released. LinGin has proved to be so popular that they had to move premises to a bigger distillery to scale up production within the first year!
In addition to LinGin, 2019 saw the launch of the Four Marys Gins - 4 flavoured gins to celebrate Mary Queen of Scots' Ladies in Waiting and the Colours Range was added in 2020. Following the launch of their own bespoke bottle in July 2021, the Premium Range has expanded and now includes LinGin, Cask Aged Gin, Mulled Gin, Navy Strength Gin and the Berry Gin.
