New Product of the Week - Hebridean Pink Gin
The latest featured new product comes from way out west, the most westerly distillery in the United Kingdom in fact!
Hebridean Pink Gin is only the second release produced at their island distillery by the Tiree Whisky Company.
The Tiree Whisky Company Story
Launched by locals Ian Smith & Alain Campbell, the goal of the Tiree Whisky Company is to return whisky making to the Isle of Tiree. At its peak, Tiree was home to over fifty distillers but over time they all shut down operations and the connection to the Scotch whisky industry has been lost.
Following the success of releasing a limited editon 19 year old Highland Single Malt, Tyree Gin was launched at the Tiree Music Festival in 2017. In those days, Tyree Gin was made by Thames Distillers in London using some local botanicals shipped down from the island.
The success of Tyree Gin helped to fund the renovation of an industrial shed in West Hynish in the southwest of the island and in 2019 Tiree became home to an operational distillery for the first time in over 200 years.
Hebridean Pink Gin
Released in the summer of 2020, the Hebridean Pink Gin is presented in a striking pink bottle.
It's a contemporary pink gin made with juniper berries, raspberries and sweet peels for a naturally sweet and refreshing flavour with the crucial juniper backbone.
We recommend serving the Hebridean Pink Gin over plenty of ice with a premium tonic and garnishing with lots of fresh berries.
For those with a sweeter palate then a rose lemonade is the perfect substitute for tonic.
The sweeter flavour profile of the gin also lends itself to many flavoursome, fruity cocktails.
