Scottish Gin Club June 2024 - Biggar
The Biggar Gin Co. | Herbaceous Gin
Produced in batches of no more than 140 bottles at a time the Herbaceous gin moves away from the citrus-forward profile of Biggars other core products. It introduces botanicals such as lemon verbena, sage, clivers he and, dandelion root to the more traditional botanicals such as juniper, coriander seed and pink peppercorn.
All of the bottles are individually numbered by hand with the batch and bottle number.
All Botanicals: Including juniper, coriander seeds, cassia bark, orange, lemon verbena, rosehip, rowan berries, nettles, pink peppercorn, lavender, rosemary, sage, cleavers herb
Tasting Notes
Nose: A is clear punch of juniper. Lemon verbena and rosemary then tantalise the senses.
Palate: The big flavour profile continues, citrus is still evident, an exciting mouthfeel lead by the incorporation of the sage.
Finish: A slight bitterness which tails off to leave a savoury taste in the mouth.
Perfect serve: Great served over ice with a premium tonic and a twist of lemon peel.
About Biggar

Both brothers moved away from Biggar for education and work but have slowly migrated back to the town to settle down. They combine tradition and innovation with a sense of place and their flagship product - Biggar Original Recipe Gin - was launched in April 2018.
