Isle of Barra Distillers' Island Dark Rum is the first rum from the Outer Hebrides and delivers the elicit connection of the land and sea.

The classic dark rum has been infused in on Barra with carrageen seaweed, coconut, cardamom and orange, among a host of other botanicals.

The rum has been released as the distillery move towards their journey into whisky.

The Island Rum has classic dark rum notes along with maritime notes from the carrageen seaweed.

Great to sip over ice, or mixed with a mixer such as cola, ginger ale or ginger beer.

Meet the maker

After its formation in 2017, Isle of Barra Distillers became the Isle of Barra's first legal distillery and Scotland's most westerly distillery. The small, family run company owned by Katie and Michael Morrison who had a dream to create a future for their family on their island home. The distillery now employs six people who all work passionately to grow the company and awareness of the island. The first batch of gin was distilled in August 2017 and the distillery will be releasing some island whisky in the near future.

Delivery Service

We use a combination of delivery services and the provider and service used will depend on your location, the size and weight of the products ordered, the value of the goods and the delivery service you select at checkout.

All deliveries in the UK will be dispatched using either Royal Mail or by a courier. Deliveries out with the UK will always be delivered using a courier.

We always recommend that you provide us with a delivery address where it is likely that someone will be available to receive and sign for the parcel. Where applicable, you will receive communication with a tracking number for your parcel

Delivery Times

We dispatch orders Monday to Friday and all orders received before 1pm are dispatched the same day. Order received after 1pm are dispatched the next working day.

The delivery time depends on your location and the delivery service selected at checkout. However, all deliveries in the UK will generally be made within 3 days of dispatch. Deliveries to European countries will be made within 5-7 working days of dispatch.
