On the nose, rich dark chocolate, blackcurrants, and muscovado sugar combine with cherries, earthy pine, and maritime hints layered with vanilla, cloves, and blueberries. The palate reveals spices, fresh fruits, and orange peel, leading into a long, lingering finish with touches of coffee, dark chocolate and pepper.
Serve how you enjoy your drams.
Ardbegs history dates all the way back to 1815 when it was first founded by John Macdougal. Ardbeg faced two closures throughout the 1900s up until 1997 when Glenmorangie purchased the distillery and only a year later was voted best distillery of the year. Later in 2008 Ardbeg 10 Year Old wins ‘World Whisky of the Year’ and continues to win with their Uigeadail in 2009. In 2010, Ardbeg wins ‘Scotch Whisky of the Year’ with their Supernova whisky and wins ‘World’s Best Single Malt Whisky' with the Corryvreckan whisky. Fast-forward to present, Ardbeg continues to release new whiskies and their still house has doubled in size in 2021 which now means twice the capacity of whisky is produced.
