Meet the maker

Founded in 1839 by merchant adventurer Alex Matheson, Dalmore Distillery sits in the Scottish Highlands in Alness. Later on in 1867 the disillery was taken over by decendents of the Clan Mackenzie - which then lead to it's first change; introducing the infamous stag onto every bottle. The stag is a representation of a fateful day in 1263 when the cheiftain of Clan Mackenzie saved the life of King Alexander III of Scotland from a charging stag. Today, Dalmore is one of the most recognised names in the whisky world.
