Smokehead Sherry Bomb Islay Single Malt is peaty whisky with an added punch of sherry character from Oloroso sherry casks.

The flavoursome whisky balances the big smoke with equally big sweetness and dried fruit notes. The producer knows that this is definitely 'not for everyone'.

Bottled by Ian Macleod Distillers, the distillery that supplies the malt for Smokehead is unknown.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, Sherry Bomb opens with hits of peat before a fruitier, creamier feel with rich oak, soothing custard and vanilla. The palate is thick and rich with raisin, sultanas, dried fruit, barbecued bananas and heavy thick peat. The finish is even more peaty but it has some Spanish sherry oakiness which brings some sweetness.

The perfect serve

Enjoy Sherry Bomb your way. We recommend sipping over ice!

Meet the maker

Smokehead is a range of intensely peaty Islay single malt whiskies from undisclosed distilleries on the island. Smokehead whiskies are aimed at younger malt drinkers and those who smoke tradition and dodge the drab! Launched in 2006 by Ian Macleod Distillers, there has been much debate and speculation surrounding the malt in Smokehead. It may come from different Islay distilleries batch to batch or may remain consistent. Our best guess is that the malt comes from Caol Ila.
