Kirkjuvagr Beyla Gin is an award winning Old Tom gin made with Orcadian honey and fresh Scottish raspberries.

The original Kirkjuvagr Gin recipe has been tweaked with the addition of honey and raspberries for a slight sweetness and a subtle pink hue.

Kirkjuvagr Beyla Gin takes its name from the Norse goddess of bees who had a strong connection to the earth. This connection is shared by the team at Orkney Distilling who grow many of the botanicals used in the islands.

Tasting Notes

Fresh Scottish raspberries bring extra fruitiness and colour to the classic Kirkjuvagr gin recipe, while balancing the sweetness introduced by our island honey.

The perfect serve

Great when served over ice with a light tonic and plenty of raspberries. For those with a sweeter plate then swap the tonic for lemonade.

Meet the maker

Orkney Distilling was launched in 2016 by husband and wife team Stephen and Aly Kemp. Based in Kirkwall, the capital of Orkney, the couple wanted to create a range of spirits use local botanicals and celebrates the heritage of Orkney. With the help of the Agronomy Institute from the University of the Highlands and Islands, they started researching different local botanicals to perfect their recipe. Orkney Distillery was then opened in July 2018, sitting on Kirkwall's harbour front. The flagship Kirkjuvagr range underwent a rebrand in late 2021 and is now presented in a custom bottle.
