From the historic market town of Strathaven in South Lanarkshire, Old Mother Hunt was founded in 2020 by a husband and wife Matt and Becky during lockdown. Matt lost his job as a pilot and Becky was a harrassed mum with two young kids. Having just moved into a new house and suddenly finding themselves with no income, the pair decided to take the plunge and create their own company. It was a steep learning curve but the first products were launched in November 2020. The rums are made in small batches using natural ingredients so the flavours may vary slightly between batches depending on the season. Matt and Becky also expect the flavours to change subtly as their experience and skills evolve. The Old Mother Hunt range started with the Smoky Oak Golden Rum and Winter Spiced before adding another Spiced, Golden and White (Silver) rum to the range in Spring 2021.
