Lost Loch Spirits was founded in 2017 by Peter Dignan and Richard Pierce. The distillery is nestled in between forest and farmland on the edge of Cairngorm National Park on what would have been the eastern shore of Loch Ardlossan. Following unsuccessful attempts to drain the loch in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, the loch was eventually drained in 1944 to assist with the war effort. Peter and Richard have an ethos to be inventive in their thinking, to look at history for inspiration and to produce a range of award winning spirits that have local provenance. They are proud that Lost Loch Spirits is a part of a resurgance of craft distilling on Royal Deeside. The range includes Eenoo Gin as well as Murmichan - the first Scottish absinthe - and a liqueur.
