Founded in 2005, Kilchoman Distillery was the first distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years and it is Islay's only farm distillery producing Scotland's only Single Farm Single Malt. The distillery is owned and operated by the Wills Family - husband and wife Anthony and Kathy along with their three sons George, James and Peter. The family farm approximately 2,000 acres surrounding the ruined Kilchoman Church with the most fertile ground (250 acres of fields surrounding the distillery) used for growing barley. The famly are passionate about resurrecting the grass roots tradition of farm distilling where single malt is cultivated from barley to bottle in a single location. The responsibility for quality and consistency is not outsourced but completed on-site with skill, care and attention to detail.
