Based in Castlebay in the south of the Isle of Barra, Isle of Barra Distillers is the most westerly distillery in Scotland. The remote island is home to Michael and Katie Morrison who had a dream to create a future for their family on the island. The first batch of gin was distilled in August 2017 using 'Ada', a custom built still named after a special little lady who might be operating the still in the future! The flagship product, Barra Atlantic Gin, contains a locally foraged botanicals to ensure that there is a piece of the island in every bottle. In addition to the gin, the distillery hope to be releasing their own single malt whisky in the future.
