Based in Doune, Deanston was founded in 1966 and is based in a converted cotton mill. The location was chosen initially due to its proximity to the River Teith and the availability of soft water which is perfect for malt production. Deanston are committed to using a traditional, hand crafted approach which embodies the honesty of the Deanston community. Every drop of their Highland Single Malt is a marriage of the finest local ingredients and the skill of the craft. About 15% of the whisky produced at Deanston is reserved or bottling as a single malt, with the remainder being reserved for blends. All of the whisky is made using unpeated malts from Angus, East, Lothian and Moray.
