Crafty Distillery
Overlooking the Galloway Hills on the edge of Newton Stewart, Crafty Distillery is a modern grain to glass distillery with a very simple mission - to create tasty spirits from scratch using new technology and locally sourced ingredients. The team at Crafty Distillery is small but they are committed to quality and doing things properly which includes producing their own neutral grain spirit to form the base of each of their products. The purpose built distillery offers stunning views over the Galloway Forest and we highly recommend stopping by. Winning the Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year at the 2020 Scottish Gin Awards, Crafty Distillery offer tours of the distillery as well as the option to go on a foraging tour to pick the Noble Fir and Bladderwrack Seaweed used in the flagship Hills & Harbour Gin. There is also a cafe on site where you can sample some artisan local produce to accompany the gins. In late 2020, Craft Distillery announced the exciting news that they will be releasing single malt Scotch whisky from the distillery too.
