New Product of the Week - Native Galloway Gin 2021
Each year the team at Crafty Distillery produce a limited edition gin made only using botanicals that are foraged from Galloway. Our product of the week this week is the 2021 edition of the Native Galloway Gin.
As with all releases from Crafty Distillery, the base spirit is made at the distillery from local wheat. This provides a smooth base for the gin.
The base spirit has been distilled along with Juniper, Elderberries, Crab Apples, Samphire, Sea Aster and Sea Buckthorn all of which have been hand foraged over the course of a number of weeks from the hillsides, forests, woodlands, hedgerows, fields, coastline and estuaries in Galloway. It captures the true essence of the stunning corner of southwest Scotland.
Native Galloway Gin Tasting Notes
Firmly juniper led, with a mild berry sweetness, tart orange and maritime notes, shouldered by a massive zing from tart tiny red crab apples. Slight salt, pepper and floral notes bolster body and taste. Clean & fresh, with leaning toward dry in balance.
Perfect Serve Suggestion
We think the gin is best served over plenty of ice, topped up with a classic tonic and garnished with a slice of fresh apple.
Beautifully presented in a bespoke frosted glass bottle complete with a measure in the natural wood and cork stopper and gift box, it makes a great gift for a gin-loving friend or as a special treat for yourself!
