ABV: 40%  |  Location: The Black Isle

The Geologist is a Scottish gin with a cause as sales from each bottle will contribute to local community projects in the Black Isle and the North Highland Geopark.

It's made with a stunning blend of local and exotic botanicals including juniper, orris root, cocoa beans, vanilla, grains of paradise, elderflower root and tomono berries.

One of the botanicals was brought back from Bali by a geologist and the bottle celebrates the life of Hugh Miller and the role he played in the development of Cromarty and the science of geology.

Tasting Notes

Prominent notes of juniper are perfectly balanced with a lovely blend of cocoa bean, vanilla, and grains of paradise for a subtle sweetness and a hint of spice.

The perfect serve

The Geologist Gin is exceptionally versatile and can be sipped over ice, used to make a classic G&T or in a cocktail. If pouring a G&T we'd recommend over ice with a premium classic tonic and finished with a slice of lemon.

Meet the maker

The original Cromarty Distillery dates back to 1826, founded by John McIntosh, when the town was a major port, importing hemp from the Baltic to be woven in a factory by the shore as well as exporting the produce of the farms on the Black Isle. Inspired by Cromarty's past and Hugh Miller, a famous Geologist that resided in Cromarty from 1802 – 1865, the bottle pays tribute to a man who embraced the age of Scottish Enlightenment. The team at Cromarty Distillers want to support local projects to give back to the area.
