Big Peat is a blended malt which contains only Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from the island of Islay. Islay's distilleries are known for their peaty, smoky character, all offering variations on the theme of ash, beach bonfires, coal and tar. Big Peat represents all that is Islay in a bottle.

Caol Ila spirit brings sweetness, Bowmore balances it perfectly, Ardbeg provides a medicinal, earthy quality and Port Ellen, a degree of elegance.

Proudly presented without colouring or chill-filtration which allows the natural oily big character of the spirit to reign supreme, Big Peat picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, Big Peat is fresh, salty and clean before developing to sweet malt dried over peat. On the palate you'll get ash, sweet tar, beaches and smoking chimneys before a long and lingering finish with salty, tangy liquorice, smoke, bonfire ashes and a phenolic quality

The perfect serve

Enjoy neat, on the rocks or with some water. If you fancy being a bit more adventurous, Big Peat makes the perfect base for a Whisky Sour.
