Matugga - Spiced Rum is a delicately balanced, rich and aromatic spiced rum - inspired by Africa and distilled, matured and bottled in the heart of Scotland.

Sugar cane molasses from the rich, red soils of East Africa is expertly handcrafted through small batch copper pot distillation, and matured in individually chosen oak casks.

This award-winning spiced rum is infused with a tantalising age-old Masala Chai blend of black tea, fresh ginger and fragrant natural spices.

Tasting Notes

On the nose you'll sense honey and orange blossom entwined with raisins. The palate is a flood of smooth, but warm, tangerine, liquorice and cracked black pepper, before a honeyed Christmas pudding finish.

The perfect serve

Enjoy neat, on ice or serve with a little ginger ale and a slice of lime. Also great as the base for an outstanding cocktail - we highly recommend an Old Fashioned.

Meet the maker

Founded by Paul and Jacine Rutasikwa, a couple with proud African heritage, Matugga Rum began life in 2015 being small-batch distilled in London. The couple then moved to Livingston in 2017. Using the finest ingredients from the easterly region of Africa, the premium spirits are carefully crafted through copper pot distillation in their brand new distillery which opened in late 2018.

Delivery Service

We use a combination of delivery services and the provider and service used will depend on your location, the size and weight of the products ordered, the value of the goods and the delivery service you select at checkout.

All deliveries in the UK will be dispatched using either Royal Mail or by a courier. Deliveries out with the UK will always be delivered using a courier.

We always recommend that you provide us with a delivery address where it is likely that someone will be available to receive and sign for the parcel. Where applicable, you will receive communication with a tracking number for your parcel

Delivery Times

We dispatch orders Monday to Friday and all orders received before 1pm are dispatched the same day. Order received after 1pm are dispatched the next working day.

The delivery time depends on your location and the delivery service selected at checkout. However, all deliveries in the UK will generally be made within 3 days of dispatch. Deliveries to European countries will be made within 5-7 working days of dispatch.
