Tasting Notes

Barra Atlantic Gin carefully balances juniper with the seaweed for a bold maritime flavour with floral and herbal notes. It's dry and rich with a sweet viscosity and a slight saltiness before a long, warm finish with a hint of spice.

The perfect serve

For a classic G&T, we recommend adding some ice to your favourite gin glass and squeezing a few drops of pink grapefruit juice over the ice. Pour a 50ml measure of gin and top up with tonic (our favourite is Walter Gregor's Original Tonic). Finish with a wedge of pink grapefruit. The gin is also perfect for making Martinis.

Meet the maker

After its formation in 2017, Isle of Barra Distillers became the Isle of Barra's first legal distillery and Scotland's most westerly distillery. The small, family run company owned by Katie and Michael Morrison who had a dream to create a future for their family on their island home. The distillery now employs six people who all work passionately to grow the company and awareness of the island. The first batch of gin was distilled in August 2017 and the distillery will be releasing some island whisky in the near future.
